Roger Brown, originally from Connecticut and now residing in Fort Myers, Florida, has dedicated his adult life to art. His colorful atmospheric watercolors are celebrated, and he actively shares his work on Instagram , engaging with over 27,200 followers, many of whom have become valued collectors.

 

From Navy Officer to Artist

Drawing from his experiences as a former Navy officer and international businessman, Roger creates mixed watercolor and pastel pieces. These artworks feature carefully developed textures to evoke atmosphere, often depicting landscapes and still life, with vibrant floral arrangements as a favored subject.

Roger enjoys painting plein air watercolors and creating studio work in oil and acrylic. A memorable visit to Italy resulted in 80 watercolors capturing the beauty of Sicily and Puglia, while a trip to France inspired two dozen oil paintings and a collection of watercolors. He has also studied under David Dunlop, an Emmy-winning PBS artist.

Mosaics and Global Recognition

From 1999 to 2009, Roger dedicated himself to creating flat glass mosaics, many of which can be viewed on his Instagram account . He honed his skills through instructional courses in Ravenna, Italy. His mosaic works are held in collections across the United States, China, and Europe, and his grand-scale oil paintings grace homes in Boston, New York, London, and Hong Kong. He has showcased his work in 10 solo exhibitions in galleries across the globe.
