November 2025: Collaged Mixed Media Suzanne Holt "Impulsive Art"

Explore the captivating blend of collage and mixed media by Suzanne Holt in November 2025. This exhibit showcases unique textures and innovative techniques.

Suzanne Holt is a transplant to Florida, by way of Ohio and New Jersey.   She specializes in mixed media artwork, mostly fabric on canvas, but dabbles with alcohol ink, upcycled art, and modeling paste.  She is addicted to fabric and can't get enough colors, textures, patterns, and, of course, stuff that sparkles! Suzanne’s inspiration comes from everything around her, including the amazing scenery here in Florida and elsewhere and hopes her work is reflective in some small way of God's creation and brings joy to others.

Suzanne’s work has been in Key West Art Center, Frangipani, Island Arts, and Shady Palm in Marathon.  Her artwork has been featured in the Fringe Theatre’s playbill in Key West.  Suzanne was a member of the Studios of Key West and regularly participated in the member shows. While in the Keys, Suzanne was awarded a grant from the Anne McKee Artist Fund.  Later she served on the Board.  She enjoys sharing her love of art with others.  She taught art classes for children at summer camp for two years and has held art classes at for mentally ill adults.

Since moving to Cape Coral/Fort Myers area, Suzanne has joined the Cape Coral Art Center and the Alliance for the Arts.   She is an artist at Arts for ACT in downtown Ft. Myers and at Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral.   Suzanne is always trying to learn something new and enjoys experimenting with new techniques and new materials.

Impulsive Art is a collection of works from artist, Suzanne Holt, that evokes Instinctualism, utilizing vibrant colors, enjoyable topics, and textures that encourage a further look.  Suzanne’s work contains layer upon layer of small pieces of fabric and other materials until the final piece is achieved.  The starting place or idea, most times, bears no resemblance to the ending result.  There is an impulsiveness inherent to the process.  The collection shows the artist’s progression through topics, for example, upcycling, nature, and also relationships.
