March 2024 at ACT Gallery Features Roger Brown

Join Arts for ACT Gallery, located at 2265 First Street in downtown Fort Myers on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 6 to 9 pm for the opening reception and Meet the Artists for the March Fort Myers Art Walk. This month, ACT Gallery will feature the ACT Artist Roger Brown. Featured Artist – Roger Brown
Roger Brown is an artist who draws upon a lifetime of experiences to create art daily. As an international banker, and businessman, he has lived in and conducted business in New York, Germany, France, Singapore, Iran, Thailand, India, China and San Diego, California. Since 1998 he has devoted himself entirely to art. 10 years as a creator of mosaics with over a dozen solo shows dedicated to the medium. He studied the art form in Ravenna, Italy, under master Luciana Notturni of Scula Arte del Mosaico. His mosaics are owned by collectors throughout the country and number over 200. A “lifetime” painter, and largely self-taught, he benefited greatly from an extended period of study in 2009 under Emmy award winning artist David Dunlap of the Silvermine Guild Arts Center, New Canaan, Connecticut. His works in oil are representational and relate to his desire to have fun with form and color. His still life compositions are bright and thoughtful, often revealing a side narrative. Watercolors will also be featured in March. He has developed an interesting style of mixing watercolor and pastel into unique texture-based paintings. These pieces are highly collectible and present a surprising array of color and mystery. Retired, Roger continues to travel and paint daily. He estimates that he has completed more than 2,000 works of art finding pleasure in each one! His social media account on Instagram has more than 21,400 followers. He and his wife Cynthia are residents of Fort Myers but continue to spend much time with their children and grandchildren in Massachusetts. The exhibition continues through April 2. ACT gallery is curated by Claudia Goode with the help of ACT Artists and Volunteers. The gallery is currently seeking volunteers and new artists!
