May 3rd Opening features Katy Danca Galli and 10 ACT Member Artists
Join Arts for ACT Gallery, located at 2265 First Street in downtown Fort
Myers on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 6 to 10 pm for the opening reception and Meet
the Artists for May’s Fort Myers Art Walk. This month, ACT Gallery will
feature underwater photographer artist, Katy Danca Galli in the main gallery
and the Arts for ACT Gallery Co-Op artists, in the White Gallery.

Growing up on the west coast of
Florida, Galli was so very grateful to experience the beauty of our blue planet
first hand. At age ten, her mother managed to save $150 over the course of 5
months, (a feat that was not easy for them at the time), so she would have the
opportunity to visit Seacamp in the Florida Keys. This changed the course of
her life forever, and as a result, fell deeply in love with the ocean...and
have worked hard ever
since to live and breathe by the
tide. She is a photographer, former photo editor for Scuba Diving magazine,
master diver, former registered boy scout (seriously), ocean advocate, and
lover of all bodies of water. Her work has been featured as the first female
Lee County Resident Artist, with Captains for Clean Water, Bare Sports, Scuba
Diving magazine, Sport Diver Magazine, Divephotoguide.com, and she has won
contests with the Ocean
Conservancy, NOAA, World
Wildlife Federation, Our World Underwater, and placed first in wide angle with
the Florida Skin Divers Association. Currently I am working on a 'camp and
dive' series, dedicated to Florida's waterways.

Statement:
'Looking
up from the ocean floor, the immense number of possibilities that exist in this
silent realm hit me all at once. The ocean is a master of none; it can caress
you, and then completely destroy you-in the span of a few seconds. I love the
extreme yin and yang that exists, and want others to see this in my work, and
know this feeling of being both completely out of your element, and then
consumed by the greatest love story you'll ever know. This is where I go to
seek God, and to share this beguiling and magnificent atmosphere.'

In the White Gallery
– ACT Gallery Co-op Artists
This month in
the white gallery, we will feature the works of the member artists and artist
volunteers that help run ACT Gallery. These artists will have oil,
acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, jewelry furniture and more. The list
of artists are Susan Mills, Kate O’Connell, Becky Sandbek, Vic and Candie
Delnore, Shah Hadjebi, Tom Breckenridge, Annette Brown, Flo Collins, Barb Mulford,
Kim Kraft Beckler, and Claudia Goode. Eleven great artists that volunteer
their time to keep this gallery running.
